Service Update - Jan 7, 2026
Hi Tin Can Community,
Quick service update from us (Chet, Graeme, and Max, Tin Can co-founders):
TL;DR: We’ve made real progress, but we’re not fully stable yet. Many Tin Cans are back online (call volume is climbing again which is so, so nice to see), but we’re still dealing with quality and reliability issues. If things feel off, it’s not normal and will be fixed.
As promised in our email sent on 1/4, we will not charge for the Party Line until service is reliably stable. Since we’re not there yet, subscription payments remain paused.
We can’t help but end every message we send right now with an apology. We’re sorry. I (Chet) am sorry. And as a Tin Can customer, I feel the pain of a service not working well with you.
My daughter Emma was mad at me two days ago because she was unable to call her friend to chat about the dance they’re working on for their school talent show. She’s had the Tin Can since October 2024 and hasn’t been without it for a day since. All I could say was “sorry Emma, the whole team is working on it!” She was nice about it, which somehow made it worse. All that is to say, the motivation to get this up is absurdly personal.
Getting Emma and your Tin Cans back to a stable state is our only priority. We’ll continue to send regular updates, with the next one coming out by the end of this week.
