Tin Can is a phone for kids. That’s it. No screens. No distractions. Just real, human connection.

We started Tin Can because we couldn’t find a phone we actually wanted to give our kids.
Everything out there felt like a compromise — too much tech, too much access, or just another screen to manage. We didn’t want that. We just wanted our kids to be able to call their friends. Safely. Independently. And without unlocking the entire internet.
So we built something different.

At first, it was just a side project — a simple setup that let our kids call their friends without a smartphone.
But word spread. What started in our own neighborhood is now a growing community of kids across the country who are talking to each other the old-fashioned way: by picking up a screen-less, plugged into the wall phone and saying hello.
What we believe:
We believe technology for kids doesn’t need to be addictive to be useful.
We believe in giving kids ways to connect without handing them a screen.
And we believe a phone should still be allowed to just be a phone.
Tin Can is our attempt to keep things simple, intentional, and human — for as long as we can.
Thanks for being here, we’re glad you found us.
