We started Tin Can because we couldn’t find a phone we actually wanted to give our kids.

Everything out there felt like a compromise — too much tech, too much access, or just another screen to manage.

We didn’t want that. We wanted our kids to be able to call their people. Safely. Independently. Without unlocking the entire internet.

So we built something different.

At first it was a side project — a setup that let our kids call their friends without a smartphone.

Then word got out. What started on one block is now a whole country of kids saying hello the old-fashioned way.

Three things we believe, on speed dial.

Tech made for kids doesn’t have to be addictive to be useful.

Kids deserve a way to reach each other that isn’t a screen.

A phone should still be allowed to just be a phone.

Tin Can is our attempt to keep things simple, intentional, and human — for as long as we can.
