Pre-Order Terms

We’ve tried to keep these Pre-Order Terms short, plain-English, and parent-friendly. They cover pre-orders placed by customers in the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand for the Tin Can phone. These Pre-Order Terms sit alongside our Refund Policy and Privacy Policy — if there is any conflict between these Pre-Order Terms and our Refund Policy for your pre-order, these terms control.

  1. Who You’re Buying From

We are Tin Can Untechnologies, Inc., a company based in the United States. 

  1. What You’re Pre-ordering

Your pre-order is for the Tin Can phone only. Specifically, your pre-order delivery box is expected to include a Tin Can phone, a twirly cord, and a USB-C power cableYour pre-order does not include account setup, the companion app, or any paid subscription. Those will be presented to you separately when you set up your phone following receipt.

  1. Additional Terms Will Apply

Additional terms between you and us will govern your use of the Tin Can phone and associated services we provide to you. If you do not agree to these terms, you have a right to cancel your pre-order as described below.

  1. When We Expect to Ship

We expect to ship pre-ordered Tin Cans on or before 30 November 2026. This is an estimate. Actual timing may change because of production, supply chain, logistics, regulatory approval, or other launch-related reasons. 

  1. Payment & Shipping

The pre-order price for your Tin Can phone will be shown and charged in your local currency at checkout and will include shipping and VAT or GST, as applicable. We charge the full pre-order price (including taxes and shipping) when you place your pre-order. But don’t worry if you change your mind - we make cancellation easy (see Section 6).

  1. Cancellation

You can cancel your pre-order any time before it ships by emailing hello@tincan.kids. If you choose to cancel, we’ll refund the full amount you paid to your original payment method. We aim to process refunds within 10 business days of receiving your request. 

In addition, Tin Can offers all customers the ability to return their Tin Can within 45 days of delivery - please see our Refund Policy for details. 

  1. Shipping Delays & Non-fulfillment

If we expect your order to ship after 30 November 2026, we’ll email you using the address you gave us at checkout. You’ll have the choice to wait or to cancel for a full refund. If we can’t ship your device within a reasonable additional period or if we can’t fulfill your order entirely (for example, due to product availability changes, certification or launch timing changes, or a fraudulent or unauthorised order), we may cancel your pre-order and refund you in full. This doesn’t take away any other rights you have under the laws of your country.

  1. Returns After Delivery

After delivery, returns are handled in accordance with our Refund Policy. Nothing in these terms affects any non-waivable rights you have under the law of your country. If your country’s laws give you stronger rights, those rights apply in addition to these Pre-Order Terms or our Refund Policy

  1. Device Requirements

In order to work, the Tin Can needs a wi-fi connection, the companion app, a Tin Can account, and compatible network conditions.

  1. Changes to These Pre-order Terms

We may update these Pre-Order Terms from time to time (for example, to reflect changes in the law). The version that applies to your pre-order is the version that is posted online when you place the pre-order, unless we tell you otherwise and you agree. If you don’t agree to any such updates to these Pre-Order Terms, you may cancel your order and we will refund the full amount you paid to your original payment method. We’ll post the current version of these Pre-Order Terms online with the “Last updated” date at the top.

  1. Governing Law

Except if you are located in the United Kingdom, these terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA. That doesn’t limit your right to bring a claim in the courts of your home country, or your right to rely on consumer protections that can’t be contracted out of under the law of your home country.

If you are located in the United Kingdom, these terms, their subject matter, and formation are all governed by English law, and you can bring claims against us in the English courts. If you live in Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring claims against us in the courts of the country you live in.

  1. Cancellation Form for UK Users

If you are in the UK, you also have a right under applicable consumer protection laws to cancel your pre-order within 14 days of receiving your Tin Can, for any reason. If you choose to exercise this right to cancel, we’ll refund the full amount you paid to your original payment method. To exercise this right, you can email us at hello@tincan.kids or you may complete the below form and return it to us at the address above.
